Author Topic: Loadlin keeps restarting right after issue commad to load linux  (Read 986 times)

Right after i enter command
loadlin stata initrd=initrd.img root=/dev/ram rw
my computer instantly restart!
I boot into DOS mode from Hiren Boot CD 8.5
I puted initrd.img, linux.bat, loadlin.exe, and sata in c:\loadlin
My Computer is Pen 3 866Mhz RAM 256
Graphic Card Intel 82810
Two Hdds And 1 CDROM
Does anyone know why i got kick-off right after run above command to install VL?

It is suspected that either your paths are off or you need to use another "root=/dev/ram".
Maybe "root=/dev/ram0" ?

Maybe you need to tell it the root first, then tell it what img to use. Instead of

loadlin stata initrd=initrd.img root=/dev/ram rw
use

loadlin sata root=/dev/ram rw initrd=initrd.img

Can you not boot from a VL install CD?
