Hey ya ! i just installed Vector linux light in my old crappy laptop ( ibm, Pent - 3 ,256 ram , 40gb HD ) kinda slow right? , so anyway ... dunno why .. but now when i insert my ethernet cable ( DSL ) anything's happen ... so i cannot use internet ... How can i make it work ?  Cry

use vasm or vasmCC to configure the network.  If you can get to connect once, you'll have passed the 1st stage.  Some problems have been reported about vl not remembering connections from one boot to another.  There's  a fix for that too, but first, post about your experiences with vasm .

Power down the laptop, insert the ethernet cable and try again. It should just work then. Vasm works without the Internet, but you do need the Internet connected to configure it.
