I've been working on a package for stardict compiled without Gnome necessary.  If hata_ph doesn't get around to it, I can upload what I have.

Might as well mention, if anyone needs dictionaries, encyclopedias, thesauri, etc. for stardict, you can check the following two sites:
http://xdxf.sourceforge.net/
http://stardict.sourceforge.net/

You can also check here for a nice listing of the xdxf dictionaries:
http://xdxf.revdanica.com/down/
Format needs to be set to stardict.

There are also some tools with the stardict program (at Sourceforge) to create your own dictionaries.

Even without any dictionaries installed, you can still use stardict on Linux to look things up like man page entries.
