Songbird problem

Anyone had success getting Songbird to run?

Have download the tarball, unpacked into a directory under /home and am running with ./songbird.

Loads ok, seems to work until I play a file ( tried ogg, mp3, wav ) and it then hangs, no message in terminal and have to kill it.

VL6, Songbird 1.0.0

Tried it as root, no different. Here's the terminal output at hang after selecting a song to play.
