As you no doubt know, remind comes with the tkremind GUI interface but the tkremind windows are too small for many items. That may be why you use osmo. Wyrd or wxremind are necessary to remind (for us GUI users) if you have more than a few events each day. It may be rendered obsolete by google calendar someday, but not yet. Wxremind is still better (I find wyrd a bit weird) for use on one machine. I use gedit as the wxremind editor instead of vi (which it comes with). It allows for easy edit at the command line.
I have all this running fine on VL6.0, so I must have downloaded remind from the roaringpenguin site. Reason for the repository request is that, not knowing remind was not in 6.0 repository (I think its not), I recommended it to my friend and he could not find it. Neither could I.
As I don't think he could download and install it from http://www.roaringpenguin.com/products/remind
and as it is a wonderful, nearly infinitely expandable calendar, I made the repository suggestion. Even better would be to add wxremind as well. Wxremind has quite a few dependencies, but most (not all) all already in the repositories. I think remind also runs on mac machines out of the box, but am not positive. http://www.43folders.com/2005/06/03/dashboard-widget-for-unix-remind
is one of the mac sites.
