Hi Peeps,
I have managed to do this in Windows but not sure how to in Linux. I want to explore 2 avenues here:

1) Current Setup - Canon printer is USB on Windows machine which connects directly to the internet (via firewall/router). Do I need Samba? does it have to be installed on the Windows machine? The machines that need to connect are connected to the network wirelessly.

2) Making the share from Sabayon Linux - NS Shares? Never set up a printer to share from Linux as host.

Best regards,

I think option 1 would be the easiest way for you ATM.

Simply set the printer properties in your wind os box to share the printer.
you do not need samba on the windows machine.
You DO need samba in the client machine, so if it's not there get it installed via gslapt.

If you are running VL, you should have samba installed.
After that, it's just a matter of setting up a printer via the cups web interface.
