Well I'm using SeaMonkey as my primary browser in VL6.0  but when I right click on any saved .html file in VL File Manager,  and choose "Open With",   I find only Firefox, Opera,  or Other Applications.   No sign of SeaMonkey there at all.       Not sure if this is a VL issue or a SeaMonkey issue,   or perhaps it's something to do with the way SeaMonkey installs in VL,   but how can I now add SeaMonkey to the list of options under "Open With"?

Can't argue with that, but the solution is easy. Just right click and choose 'open with' then 'open with other application'
Then click on the 'use custom command'...in the box type seamonkey.

And tick the 'use as default' box. I suspect the problem is due to the shared-mime-info package, which is a Slackware package, not a Vectorlinux package.

  And while we're on the subject, everyone should be using Seamonkey 1.1.16, not the package in the title. There were security issues fixed with the 1.1.16 version. In fact, it looks as though 1.1.17 has just entered testing (not been released yet, so there isn't a Vector package yet).

I think (for packaging) putting "MimeType=text/html" in the seamonkey-browser.desktop file, and doing an "update-desktop-database" in the doinst.sh, should work, at least for PCMan file manager.  That doesn't seem to work in xfe though.

Guess we'll find out when 1.1.17 gets here ...
