I switched my T42 from 5.9 to 6.0 a couple of weeks ago, perhaps a little longer. It was quite an experience. Learning about wicd. Learning the GUI install. Putting netdate back in cron. Getting lyx, dosemu (Foxpro 2.6), wxremind, American 4pane, GoogleDesktop, firewall, evince, flpsed and kword up and running. Temporarily giving up on some, such as Symphony 1.2, which are not open source (or linux) but still hoping that someday I'll get WP 6 up in dosemu. Doing, it seems, dozens of other, littler things to my root directory. Happy that, as with the upgrade from 5.8 to 5.9, my home directory was untouched. And now, content. Bovinely content. Chewing my cud by the salt lick. VL 6.0 is good. Very, very good.
Thanks to all.
