I am pretty new to vector linux, i actually installed it last night. i am in the process of trying to get TightVNC to work but in a both related and totally unrelated topic I am wondering what this whole hostname business is about? I set it to the default vector.linux.net, but why exactly is the need for that? i changed it once and then i was locked out of the operating system. i've used RH 9 once before and there was no requirement for such a thing i think using that default hostname is causing a conflict with trying to get TightVNC to work? what other options do i have with this whole hostname business?
