Just installed kdewebdev and it's now set kdm as the login manager.

I want my nice default screen back!

What was it called and how do I get it back?

I guess /etc/rc.d/rc.X file is used to determine which display manager will be used. Open it as root in your favourite editor and change line DISPLAY_MANAGER=KDM to DISPLAY_MANAGER=GDM.

I hope this will solve your problem.

You can select your login manager through VASM or VASMCC. Start VASMCC, give your root password, then XWINDOW, then Display Manager, then select KDM, GDM, or XDM. It'll tell you what you need to do to complete the change.
