6.0 Standard Gold installation totally freezes on select language: mouse or keyboard don't work anymore... Help!!! My system: P3, 600 Mhz, 1,5 GB ram.

This is not a common occurrence.  My first suspicion is a bad burn or incomplete download.

Does your md5 check sum match-up to this.

I checked the md5 before burning the CD, it was correct. After burning the CD I did verification of the data on the CD, it was also correct. I retried to install 3 times, and every time it froze on 'select your language'. I had installed Xubuntu on this machine before, without problem.

If the md5 is good and the burn is good then you must have a hardware fault.

you can try with text-based install and see what happens.

It's in the same vl iso.

The text-based installer seems to work, but this is much too complicated for me. I don't mind that it's text-based, but I don't understand anything about all this questions about partitioning.
