Installation of lilo fails
« on: May 04, 2009, 04:49:15 pm »

I am trying to install vector linux 6.0 standard gold on a laptop with the intel GM965 chipset.  When the installation reaches the point where lilo is to be installed, It gives me an error that the adapter is not recognized and it is falling back to text mode. I am able to successfully boot this hard disk installation using the cd.

Is there a way to add a grub entry to a working linux menu.lst that will give me the option to boot vector?  the partition that vector is installed on is sda7 ( hd (0,6) in Grub. )

Any help you can render would be greatly appreciated!

resolved the issue of adding a grub entry courtesy of this site:

Vector looks great! :)
