Hi - I have just switched over to Vector and am looking for software to download photo images from CDs.I know that Vector has software already loaded but is appears more geared up for downloading directly from a camera.
Any suggestions much appreciated - I used to use F-Spot but when I downloaded it from the Vector reppos wouldnt launch (dependancy issues maybe?).
If you're downloading from CDs, can't you just use a file manager? Midnight Commander (the two panes are very nice) is good for this but won't show thumbnails. With a graphical file manager like Thunar or XFE, you can view thumbnails.
You can use a file manager with many digital cameras and of course, you can put a media card in a card reader and use a file manager to transfer the pictures to your hard drive. (I've never understood the need for special software for downloading photos.)
Or do I not understand what you're looking for?
