Hi I use VLstandard as well and have been using it to stream my shares off my Mythbuntu box upstairs.
In VL6.0 you can view shares under the VectorLinux Samba Network.
You can find it under the network category of the menu as "Windows Networking"
You can also find it on the panel by clicking the arrow to the right of the vasm icon.
The way it should work is this ...
Start the program from either location and choose rescan the network from the menu.
When asked for a password just hit enter. If you have not set a password then you don't have one.
You should then see the share on your network or a selection of shares if you have more than one.
You will be asked to enter your samba user name and password for the share, again if you hav'nt set one than you don't have one. Just press enter.
You selected share will be mounted to /home/UserName/mnt and should pop up in Thunar.
Trouble is (for me at least) I have had to do the following fix (provided by nightflier)
Windows Networking fix
