Hi,

I'm trying to set up my laptop for wireless internet with 6.0. I read the FAQ but i'm still lost. I can't even find the number for my wireless device. I tried 02:03.0 but it seems to not be it. Thanks.

Looks like your wireless card may be eth1 instead of wlan0.

lspci -v says Kernel driver in use: ipw2200. I suppose then that i have to add alias eth1 ipw2200 or alias wlan0 ipw2200 to /etc/modprobe.conf? I'm not sure.

try use vlwifi to connect your wireless...if it work maybe u want use wicd....

vlwifi asks me if i want to insert a windows driver into ndiswrapper, i click OK and it takes me to my home directory. I click cancel 'cause i don't know what to do and then it says that no wireless cards were found.

wicd says that no wireless networks were found.

Got it!

- I added alias eth1 ipw2200 to /etc/modprobe.conf and /etc/modules.conf,
- i did rmmod ipw2200 and modprobe ipw2200,
- i added eth1 to wicd,
- and. . . time to pull the cable off.

I hope i didn't forget anything. Now, let's see if it's gonna survive a reboot. . .
