I noticed that vec 5.8 doesnt have an icon for the tlz packages,which is really a pitty.
I think that its rellatively easy to create one or more icons for this mime type,if you use another set for a base... But it would be also nice if we had one special icon that is pretty different and stands out from the other package icons.
Here is my idea of how the Tlz icon should look like:
-It should have a colorful scheme,such as the tukaani's logo. Think tropical,colorful..
-Should be glossy and cube-ish, (like a box)
-We can use other icon sets for base.

I e-mailed a link to this thread to Lahrzu, the genius behind getting the tlz archives into his own distro and into ours. I'm curious to get his thoughts on this. ;-)

the default packaging standart mime type... has no icons? It's not a pity,its a gap in the design department. IT should have an icon,atlest for ease of the user to recognise it faster among a pile of other files.  I made the coconut icon from scratch. It took me 2 hours. My idea of the coconut is that its hard to break+it suits the tukaani |

hey guys. I added more detail to the texture of the coconut+more hair. (updated the xcf file at the art repo) I am open to any more suggestions to make it look better. =)   yellow+green=very tropical =) |

Maybe a combination of the first and second attempt. I'll explain...
The flaps on the box should be open (like in the second attempt) and maybe inside the box, the little text that says .tlz
Or have the little text box right above the contents of the box (second attempt)

yes thats it, for me anyway.
Larhzu was in irc earlier and said he didnt care much for the rainbow behind the tlz, and that he wanted something that showed the compression more.
said the box was more representative of a package, so I said maybe you could somehow show the box as being sqeeezed, kinda like zip uses the clamp or something.

how do i associate the icon with the tlz mimetype? I want to add the coconut icon,but i have no idea how. |
