TV-viewing software
« on: May 18, 2009, 06:50:33 am »
Hello,

which TV-viewing software is suitable for VL 6.0 Std.? I already requested TV-Time, and/or xawtv for the repository, and I tried to compile them myself, but they did not work. The software should work with my TerraTV Value card. I would prefer a simple software, but a Media-center is OK as well.

Thanks

Daniel

Xine can interface with a TV tuner card. It should already be installed by default I think. (I haven't tried VL 6.0 yet so I'm not sure about it.)
The following sentence is true. The previous sentence is false.

VL 6.0 SOHO KDE-Classic on 2.3 Ghz Dual-core AMD with 3 Gigs of RAM

mplayer takes arguments like

mplayer tv://[channel][input_id] [options]

Saint google says input_id is usually 0 (zero) for tv tuners, but the console output should tell what are the available options.
