This is unlike any neural model I know about

Page four offered the most familiarity ... it's reminiscent of backprop except there is no fancy schmancy gradient descent, just (linear!) weakening of synapses along undesired pathways until the desired output is finally achieved

That's all there is to it! In layman's terms it's almost foolishly simple compared to the current generation of neural models used most often in industry

I'm still trying to make sense of all of this but the model touts biological fidelity and appears to work pretty well. If this negative feedback model turns out to replace (even partially) neural network models as we know them, it would be pretty cash
