No hurry on working on it. Good things take time, right? Thanks for the compliment on the work, although in my eye mine is less quality than the other one... jagged edges around the inner part of the circle and such. Anyway, I thought that would be a fair start by using something that is not copyrighted.
If I get time I'll try to do a doc or pdf on how to make one of those. But for a quick run down, simply start out by making a circle. Use a gradient overlay (shadows2) to get desired light/shadow effect. Bevel inside, bevel outside. Make new layer. Using the select continuous region tool inside the circle, then fill that with color. Use script LOMO effect to shade outer portion of colored circle.
I see I did not do this, but you can switch to layer of chromed circle, then choose colors/colorify.../default selection. This will remove the brownish clolor from the ring and should apear more as chrome.
I hope this comes in handy for everyone interested in using it. And thanks again tom38 for sharing some nice artwork and ideas.
