TI ACX 111 based wireless nic [netgear]
« on: June 04, 2009, 12:01:25 am »
Hi,

I have used this card easily on a number of distros, but vector has always been very easy and friendy using ndiswrapper. I have been using vector 5.9 standard and Lite.  However, when I install Vector 6 there is no joy. Installing ndiswrapper and the drivers from the vendors cd locks up the system. OK, there is a conflict. Using lspci i see my card listed as ACX 111, but I don't have a clue as to how to find the driver, alias it, blacklist it, delete it and install ndiswrapper and/or etc.

This is probably covered somewhere. Please point me in the appropriate direction. Have spent a lot of hours and would like to make progress.

THanks muchly,

dan

Are you sure that your card needs to use ndiswrapper? Your "ifconfig -a" shows that you don't have any network interfaces running. Have you tried running netconf in vasm?
The following sentence is true. The previous sentence is false.

VL 6.0 SOHO KDE-Classic on 2.3 Ghz Dual-core AMD with 3 Gigs of RAM

Before you get lost.

Lets' start from the beginning.

Please include Netgear wireless card name, make, model and version number.

Also post the lspci for the NIC card.

From there we can get you going.
