ethernet card
« on: June 08, 2009, 06:13:38 pm »

I have two ethernet cards: a kingston and linksys.  Can I install both until I know which one will work?  Which is more likely to work?  What is the vector tool to diagnose?

what is the model of the network card?
you can install both and view the status in VL
type lspci, lsmod and ifconfig -a in terminal as root.....then share with us the output... :)

not on the machine now.  Playing with adding inet worked.  Took a while to crack.  Got both cards in machine.

The machine is wedged into computer cabinet with many tenuious wires attached at back.  So, ripping out machine, pulling cards out and writing down specs is not so easy, for many people.
