If you have an "Open with" option when you are starting the music then you could pick XMMS and there might be a "remember this file association" checkbox or something like that.

The following sentence is true. The previous sentence is false.

Yeah, problem is I picked MPlayer during those options. There should be a way to change that configuration, but now I'm stumped. Huh

If you are using VL6.0 standard in xfce you can right click on the file go to properties and change the open with section.

Sorry, I took it from the 'open with' comments of previous posts that maybe you had a paylist file of some type on your desktop or some other directory.

I think if it's off the web you will be using mplayer because that's the plugin for the browser you are using.  As an experiment try a different browser and see if it will let you choose something other than mplayer.

What are trying to stream? Could you post a link.  I could try to see if I can set it to xmms, then let you know how, if I figure it out.

We are very close now....In Firefox>Preferences>Applications>MP3 Shoutcast playlist...is where it shows the default player (in this case MPlayer) Wink. Now I can choose XMMS to open with instead. Question is Where in Vector is the file in thunar located for XMMS?
