I normally use either ext2 or reiserfs (which I'm using right now).

I use XFS.  It has a long history of stability, reliability, and performance.  I originally supported it on SGI equipment a decade ago.  I've seen benchmark results on high end systems (back when I was with RedHat) and it definitely has the best performance characteristics when pushed to its limits.

I've tried XFS, but it wasn't very transparent to my other distro (Puppy) so I couldn't boot my savefile from it; probably not something that would bother others here, but still. I also believe from what others have said that it's not very resizeable.
