in VL5.8 I can use the run command: "\ \ 192.168.1.10" to explore other computer sharing.

how the VL6 ??

You are probably using 5.8 SOHO. KDE will browse a samba network using that syntax.
On VL6 it's not quite that easy. Which version are you using (standard or light)?
