Hi there,
im using Abiword 2.6.6 but spellchecking is greyed-out. German language is selected.
aspell, aspell-de,aspell-en are installed. Did i forget something ?

Is enchant installed?  That's the interface between Abiword and aspell.

Yes, actual enchant is installed.
German language for VL is set both via gdm and the locale variables.

I don't know what to suggest but I'm glad it's working for you know.  I have AbiWord working with spellchecking in three languages here without problems.  I'd still like to know what went wrong but I guess that's asking too much Smiley
