I couldn't see the point in starting a new thread for this, since I am having the same problem.
Trying to load VL6.0 std on an old Gateway 400sd (P4 2ghz, 512 RAM), my installed stopped at
Loading iSCSI transport class v2.0-870
Loading Adaptec I20 RAID: Version 2.4 Build 5go
Detecting Adaptec I20 RAID controllers...
Upon trying VL5.9 std, it would fail to continue at
Loading iSCSI transport class v2.0-724
Same as the OP, I do not have scsi or RAID controllers.
Further research shows that this also affects the following laptops, not just my Gateway 400SD or the OP's Satellite 3000 -
Dell Inspiron 2500
Dell Inspiron 2650
In regards to the install failing at these detections, I found others with the same problem with Slackware 12.2 over at Linuxquestions.org -
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-14/slack-12.2-install-problem-702994/http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-installation-40/detecting-adaptec-i20-raid-controllers...-702113/#post3444898I'm rather new to Linux. Is there any way to omit the detection of these controllers without recompiling the install package?
